Meet The Team

Blake is a registered social worker and psychotherapist based in the Niagara region, and the proud founder and owner of Beacon Of Light Counselling . With over 18 years of experience serving both the public and private sectors, Blake has developed experience in working with a diverse range of clients and challenges, including: trauma, substance use and addictions, mental health, suicide and self-harm, and men's health. 

Blake holds a Social Service Worker diploma and a Bachelor of Social Work. Committed to lifelong learning, he regularly attends seminars, reads scholarly papers and journals, and takes additional courses to expand and diversify his skill set. Blake is also a proud member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as, the Ontario Association of Social Workers. 

Blake's therapeutic approach is authentic, compassionate, and grounded. He integrates various modalities into his practice, such as:   Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (D.B.T.), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T.), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care (T.I.C.), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality(C.A.M.S.), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (S.F.B.T.).  This flexible approach allows space to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. 

Blake thrives on collaborating with clients to address life's challenges, turning theory into practical, down-to-earth solutions through psychoeducation and a focus on fostering self-discovery and emotional insight to foster growth and resilience.
